Job Description
We are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator / Manager to join our dynamic team in Sudbury, Ontario. This pivotal role involves overseeing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes from conceptual design through construction, ensuring all projects align with our high standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, proficient in BIM software and methodologies, and passionate about leveraging technology to drive project success. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and enforcement of BIM standards and protocols across projects.
- Manage and coordinate BIM models from various disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP).
- Perform clash detection and resolution, generating reports and facilitating coordination meetings.
- Develop and maintain project-specific BIM execution plans (BEP).
- Provide technical support and training to project teams on BIM software and workflows.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within BIM models and associated documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize design and construction processes.
- Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies and industry best practices.
- Manage a team of BIM specialists (if applicable to manager designation).
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in BIM coordination or management.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and best practices.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience with clash detection and resolution workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- BIM certification or advanced training.
- Experience with other BIM software such as Civil 3D, Tekla Structures, or Synchro.
- Familiarity with project management software and common data environments (CDE).
- Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure or mining projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
