Job Description
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Bricklayers / Masons to join our team in McAllen, Texas. This is an exceptional opportunity for experienced professionals looking to build a career in the United States, as we offer comprehensive visa sponsorship and relocation assistance. As a Bricklayer / Mason, you will be instrumental in constructing and repairing structures made of brick, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials. Your expertise will contribute to the structural integrity and aesthetic quality of our diverse construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, and other structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and dimensions.
- Measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work.
- Mix mortar or grout by hand or machine, ensuring proper consistency.
- Cut or trim bricks and concrete blocks to size, using trowel, hammer and chisel, or brick-cutting machine.
- Check vertical and horizontal alignment of courses with plumb bob, level, and straightedge.
- Clean excess mortar from finished surfaces with trowel and other hand tools.
- Repair and restore existing masonry work.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer or Mason.
- Proficiency in laying various masonry materials including brick, block, and stone.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of masonry tools and techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures on construction sites.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in masonry.
- Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA 10/30).
- Experience with various types of mortar and masonry repair techniques.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
