Job Description
Join Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health as a dedicated Rehabilitation Nurse. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in the recovery journey of patients experiencing a wide range of debilitating conditions, from stroke and spinal cord injuries to orthopedic trauma. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care, focusing on restoring function, promoting independence, and enhancing the quality of life for our patients. This position is open to qualified candidates who may require sponsorship, demonstrating our commitment to building a diverse and skilled nursing team. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, therapists, and social workers to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring holistic support for both patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
- Monitor patient progress, document findings, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation techniques, medication management, and self-care strategies.
- Administer medications, manage wounds, and perform other skilled nursing procedures.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional mobility, promoting independence.
- Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapists to integrate rehabilitation goals into daily care.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or ability to obtain.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care, rehabilitation, or similar setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification.
- Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, preferably Epic.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and complex medical conditions.
