Job Description
We are seeking a talented and innovative Industrial Designer to join our dynamic design team in Sacramento, CA. This role is crucial in shaping the aesthetic, usability, and overall user experience of our next-generation products across various business units. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating creative problem-solving, aesthetic sensibility, and technical understanding. Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop innovative product designs from initial sketches to 3D models and prototypes.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct user research and translate insights into meaningful design solutions.
- Create detailed design specifications, including material selections, finishes, and manufacturing processes.
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor products, and new technologies to inform design strategies.
- Ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines, technical requirements, and production capabilities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in industrial design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) and 2D design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong sketching, rendering, and visualization skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design process, aesthetic sensibility, and technical understanding.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Industrial Design or related discipline.
- Experience with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience in designing products for aerospace, building technologies, or performance materials sectors.
