Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate AR/VR Software Engineer to join our innovative team in Billings, MT. This role is crucial for developing cutting-edge augmented and virtual reality applications for defense, aerospace, and advanced simulation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real-time 3D graphics, game engines, and AR/VR SDKs. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing immersive experiences that solve complex engineering challenges and enhance operational capabilities. This position requires a hybrid work model, balancing on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. Sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test AR/VR applications using Unity/Unreal Engine.
- Implement real-time 3D graphics, physics, and interaction systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, UX designers, and subject matter experts.
- Optimize AR/VR applications for performance, latency, and user comfort on various platforms (e.g., HoloLens, Oculus, HTC Vive).
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and continuous integration.
- Stay updated with the latest AR/VR technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Contribute to technical documentation and project planning.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in C# or C++ for real-time applications.
- Strong experience with Unity3D or Unreal Engine.
- Solid understanding of 3D mathematics, computer graphics, and rendering pipelines.
- Experience with AR/VR SDKs (e.g., OpenXR, ARKit, ARCore, SteamVR, Oculus SDK).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with advanced rendering techniques (e.g., PBR, shaders).
- Knowledge of CAD software integration or industrial visualization.
- Experience with networking for multi-user AR/VR environments.
- Previous experience in defense, aerospace, or simulation industries.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
