Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Distribution Center Manager to lead our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Columbus, Ohio. This critical role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale distribution or warehouse operations, focusing on continuous improvement and team development. Relocation assistance will be provided for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily distribution center operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory control, and returns processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and associates, fostering a culture of high performance, safety, and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., transportation, customer service, human resources) to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage budget and resource allocation for the distribution center.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean methodologies.
- Maintain effective communication with customers regarding operational performance and service levels.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance for logistics operations (e.g., OSHA, DOT).
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or project management.
