Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Miramichi, New Brunswick. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality structural designs and analyses for a diverse range of projects, from commercial buildings and residential structures to industrial facilities and public infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in all project phases, from conceptual design through to construction support. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various building types and materials (e.g., concrete, steel, timber, masonry) in accordance with Canadian building codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients.
- Conduct thorough site visits for existing condition assessments, construction observation, and problem resolution.
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with project budgets, schedules, and quality assurance standards.
- Participate in client meetings and deliver clear, concise project presentations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in Canada or eligibility for immediate registration.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in structural design and analysis.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System).
- Strong understanding and application of Canadian building codes and design standards (e.g., NBCC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, particularly Revit Structure.
- Previous experience working on diverse projects within Atlantic Canada.
- Familiarity with the LMIA and Skilled Worker Visa application processes.
