Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Continental Restaurant Servers to join our esteemed team at Lagos Riviera Hotel & Suites. This role is crucial in delivering an outstanding dining experience to our guests, primarily serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our continental restaurant. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive and efficient service during both morning and evening shifts. Ideal candidates will possess a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests and present menus upon their arrival.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, offering recommendations and answering questions about menu items.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Anticipate guests' needs and respond to requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.
- Process payments accurately and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory and restocking of supplies as needed.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel dining setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Familiarity with continental cuisine and wine pairings.
- Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., French, Yoruba) is a plus.
