Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Commercial Diver / Welders to join our specialized underwater construction teams. This challenging role involves executing complex welding and construction tasks in submerged environments, essential for critical infrastructure projects such as bridges, dams, pipelines, and marine facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Perform underwater welding, cutting, and burning operations with precision and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct underwater inspections, maintenance, and repair of submerged structures and equipment.
- Operate and maintain specialized diving equipment, including surface-supplied diving systems, tools, and communication devices.
- Assist with rigging, lifting, and placement of materials and components underwater.
- Participate in dive planning, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Maintain clear and accurate communication with the surface support team and project management.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for commercial diving and welding operations.
- Complete necessary documentation and reports for diving and welding activities.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Diver Certification from an ADCI-recognized school or equivalent.
- Proficiency in various underwater welding techniques (e.g., wet welding, dry habitat welding).
- Certification in relevant welding processes (e.g., AWS D3.6M Underwater Welding Code).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional physical fitness and ability to pass a dive medical examination.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to strict operational procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a highly disciplined team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or vocational training in welding technology or a related field.
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods for weld inspection.
- Additional certifications in specialized diving techniques or equipment operation (e.g., ROV piloting, hazmat diving).
- Previous experience in heavy civil, marine construction, or industrial diving projects.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
