Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and food service to kickstart their career. As a Catering Assistant with The Place Restaurants, you will be an integral part of our dynamic catering team, helping to deliver exceptional culinary experiences at various events across Festac Town and surrounding areas. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills to succeed. You will work on an event-by-event basis, enjoying the flexibility of daily pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and buffet lines.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Replenish food and drink stations as needed during events.
- Clean and sanitize serving areas, kitchen equipment, and dining utensils.
- Assist in the transportation of catering supplies and equipment to and from event venues.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Support the catering team in various tasks to ensure smooth event operations.
Required Skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- No prior experience is necessary; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of food hygiene practices (training will be provided regardless).
- Previous experience in a customer service role is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
