Job Description

Join the IKEA team in South Brisbane as a Flat Pack Assembler for Casual Retail Support. This flexible role is perfect for individuals who are handy, detail-oriented, and enjoy a dynamic retail environment. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling a variety of IKEA flat-pack furniture, supporting our store operations, merchandising, and ensuring our products are ready for display or customer pickup. We are looking for someone reliable, eager to learn, and able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of our bustling store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently assemble flat-pack furniture according to IKEA's detailed instructions and quality standards.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of store displays and merchandising, ensuring products are presented attractively.
  • Organize and maintain the assembly area, ensuring it is clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
  • Handle tools and equipment responsibly and safely.
  • Collaborate with the retail team to support various store operations as needed, including stock replenishment or basic customer assistance.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Basic knowledge and comfort using common hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches).
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderately heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in flat-pack furniture assembly or a similar manual role is a plus, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail or warehouse environment.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per retail demands.
