Job Description
Join the vibrant team at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) as a Costume Design & Wardrobe Intern. This is an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring costume designers and wardrobe professionals to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic live performance environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the magic that brings our productions to life. As an intern, you will support all aspects of costume design and wardrobe management for various theatrical and musical productions. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn about the intricate details of costume creation, maintenance, and styling in a professional setting. Full training will be provided, and no prior professional experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with costume construction, alterations, and repairs under supervision.
- Organize and maintain wardrobe inventory, ensuring costumes are cataloged and stored properly.
- Support the wardrobe team during rehearsals and performances, including dressing, quick changes, and laundry.
- Research historical and contemporary costume styles for upcoming productions.
- Help with costume fittings and adjustments for performers.
- Ensure all costumes are clean, pressed, and show-ready for each event.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative backstage environment.
