Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our finance team in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. This role is crucial in driving financial performance through insightful analysis, strategic planning, and robust forecasting. The FP&A Manager will play a key role in supporting executive decision-making, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring financial health across various business units. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range strategic planning processes.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance reporting to identify key drivers and insights.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support business cases, investment decisions, and operational efficiencies.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and provide strategic financial guidance.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings, revenue growth, and process improvements across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
  • Mentor and develop junior finance team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in financial planning, analysis, and complex financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and corporate finance concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas, scenario analysis).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or CFA.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience with enterprise-level financial planning software (e.g., SAP BPC, Oracle Hyperion, Adaptive Insights).
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications or technology industry trends and financial metrics.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and large datasets.
