Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Scaffolding Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of scaffolding erection, alteration, and dismantling on various construction sites, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in scaffolding, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record of managing teams effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise the daily activities of scaffolding crews.
- Ensure all scaffolding operations comply with provincial safety regulations (e.g., CNESST), company policies, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the safety and integrity of scaffolding structures.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine scaffolding requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, site superintendents, and other trades to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and training to scaffolders, promoting continuous skill development.
- Manage equipment inventory, including ordering, receiving, and inspecting scaffolding materials.
- Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections.
- Promote a strong safety culture among all team members.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scaffolding Supervisor or Lead Hand.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various scaffolding systems (e.g., tube and coupler, system scaffolding, suspended scaffolds).
- Thorough understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards in construction (e.g., CNESST in Quebec).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid fall protection and elevated work platform certifications.
- Proficiency in both French and English is highly desirable, given the location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal scaffolding certification or diploma from a recognized institution.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with large-scale industrial or commercial construction projects.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
