Key Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests warmly and efficiently, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make informed recommendations on food and beverages.
- Accurately take and input food and beverage orders into our POS system.
- Serve food and drinks with elegance, precision, and adherence to service standards.
- Monitor guest needs proactively, anticipate requests, and ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
- Process payments efficiently using our POS system, handling cash and card transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing work area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and correct order delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Handle guest feedback and inquiries professionally, resolving minor issues on the spot and escalating complex matters to management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a server in a reputable restaurant or hotel setting.
- Exceptional customer service and strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task effectively.
- Professional demeanor, appearance, and a positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service protocols.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
- Basic knowledge of mixology and wine pairing.
- Proficiency with modern Point of Sale (POS) systems (e.g., Oracle Micros, Toast).
- Certification in food handling or safety.
- Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) is a plus.
