Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Packaging & Labeling Assistant to join our fast-paced FMCG plant in Ikoyi, Lagos. This entry-level position is crucial for ensuring our products are packaged and labeled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, possess a keen eye for detail, and be eager to learn and grow within a leading manufacturing environment. Full training will be provided to ensure success in this vital role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of packaging and labeling machinery.
- Inspect products for quality defects before and after packaging.
- Apply labels accurately and consistently according to product specifications.
- Monitor inventory of packaging materials and labels, reporting shortages.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist with manual packaging tasks when required.
- Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Record production data accurately as per guidelines.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or product quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to following safety and hygiene regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (even non-FMCG).
- Familiarity with basic quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
