Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Coventry. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders across various age groups, working collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes tailored to patient needs and goals.
  • Provide evidence-based intervention for a diverse caseload, including neurological conditions, developmental delays, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
  • Educate patients, families, and carers on communication strategies and swallowing techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with professional and organisational guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
  • Participate in clinical audits, service development, and professional training opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive patient care environment.

Required Skills

  • A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or eligibility to register.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a relevant setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a broad range of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a private healthcare setting.
  • Specialist interest or postgraduate training in a specific area of Speech and Language Pathology (e.g., dysphagia, voice therapy, paediatric speech disorders).
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
