Job Description
Rockwell Automation is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Control Systems (PLC) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Yuma, AZ. As a Control Systems (PLC) Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, programming, and implementation of complex industrial control systems. You will work on cutting-edge projects, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of automated processes across various industries. This role requires a strong understanding of PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, program, and test PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic for various industrial applications (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon).
- Develop and integrate Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Perform system integration, configuration, and commissioning of control systems on-site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for control system designs, programs, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in industrial automation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in PLC programming and control system design.
- Proficiency with major PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000 Logix Designer), Siemens (TIA Portal), or Schneider Electric (Unity Pro).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, FactoryTalk View).
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally for project commissioning and support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with industrial cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
- Experience with robot programming and integration.
- Project management experience in an industrial setting.
