Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our dynamic team within the Anglophone East School District. This is an exceptional opportunity for qualified educators looking to make a significant impact on students’ lives in a vibrant Canadian community. We offer comprehensive support for successful candidates requiring a Skilled Worker Visa to relocate and work in Canada. The SEN Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans, providing specialized instruction, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
- Provide direct, specialized instruction and and support to students in various settings (classroom, resource room).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and report on student achievement.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the specific needs of students.
- Participate in school-based team meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects diversity.
- Advocate for students' needs and ensure compliance with relevant educational policies and regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Education degree with a specialization in Special Education or equivalent.
- Valid teaching certification/license, or eligibility for certification, in New Brunswick.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs.
- Knowledge of various special education methodologies and interventions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and a range of special needs.
- Knowledge of Canadian educational standards and practices.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
