Job Description
We are excited to offer an entry-level opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as a Local Authority Transport Planner Trainee. This ‘Office Role’ is designed for someone with no prior experience in transport planning, offering comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship. You will play a crucial role in supporting senior transport planners, learning the fundamentals of urban and regional transport policy, data analysis, and project management. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about public service and eager to develop a career in civil engineering or urban planning within a local government setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to learn about transport planning principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist senior planners with data collection and analysis related to traffic patterns, public transport usage, and infrastructure needs.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and technical documents for various transport projects.
- Contribute to the development and review of transport strategies, plans, and policies under guidance.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders on community engagement initiatives.
- Undertake research on emerging transport technologies and sustainable solutions.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the planning team as required.
