Job Description
Are you a budding fashion enthusiast with a passion for garment construction and design? Stitch & Style Innovations is looking for an enthusiastic Apparel Patternmaking & Draping Intern to join our creative team in Muncie. This entry-level internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the core aspects of apparel development, from conceptual draping to precise flat pattern adjustments. You will work closely with experienced designers and patternmakers, learning industry best practices and contributing to live projects. No prior professional experience is required; we are seeking individuals with a strong desire to learn and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior patternmakers in creating, modifying, and digitizing patterns for various apparel categories.
- Learn and practice draping techniques on dress forms to translate design concepts into three-dimensional garments.
- Support the team in preparing and organizing fabric swatches, trims, and pattern archives.
- Document design specifications, measurements, and construction details accurately.
- Help with cutting and preparing fabric for prototypes and samples.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized studio workspace.
- Research and present new trends in patternmaking and garment construction.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of garment construction principles and sewing techniques.
- Strong passion for fashion design, patternmaking, and textile arts.
- Eagerness to learn and absorb new information quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
