Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement / Purchasing Manager to join our team in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. This critical role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services essential for our operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a proven track record in managing supplier relationships and driving efficiencies. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified international candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to meet company objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers, while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best value for the company.
  • Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and innovations to inform procurement strategies.
  • Manage purchasing budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (operations, finance, legal) to understand their needs and ensure procurement aligns with business goals.
  • Oversee inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Mentor and lead a team of purchasing professionals.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
