Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Waiter / Captain to lead our front-of-house team. As a Restaurant Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room, delivering exceptional service, and fostering a positive and efficient work environment. This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of waiters and support staff, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Oversee the daily operations of the dining room, including setup, service, and close-down procedures.
- Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Act as a primary point of contact for guests, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
- Monitor food and beverage service quality, presentation, and timing.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-shift debriefings with the service team.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and service execution.
- Assist with inventory management and stock control for front-of-house supplies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Head Waiter, Captain, or similar leadership role in a high-volume or fine-dining restaurant.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of food and beverage operations, including menu knowledge and wine pairing.
- Proficiency in POS systems and reservation software.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene.
- Knowledge of local and international culinary trends.
- Experience in training and developing junior staff.
