Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Word Processor to join our dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role is essential for maintaining the high standards of our client documentation and internal communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and formatting a variety of legal and business documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company branding guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to contribute to a prestigious legal firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and format complex legal documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ensure all documents adhere to firm-specific branding, style guides, and quality standards.
- Proofread documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors.
- Manage document version control and ensure accurate archiving.
- Assist with data entry and basic administrative tasks as required.
- Collaborate effectively with legal teams, secretaries, and other support staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all firm and client information.
- Prioritize workload efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Word Processor, Document Specialist, or similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including styles, formatting, tables of contents, and mail merge.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a legal or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with document management systems.
- Typing speed of 60 WPM or higher.
