Job Description
Join Adobe’s dynamic team as a Virtual Website Accessibility Tester. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about digital inclusivity, particularly those with experience using screen readers. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our web products and applications are accessible to everyone, including users with disabilities. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow their skills in web accessibility testing, providing comprehensive training and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual accessibility testing of Adobe's websites and web applications using various assistive technologies, with a primary focus on screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
- Identify, document, and report accessibility issues according to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 standards.
- Collaborate with development and design teams to explain accessibility findings and advocate for accessible solutions.
- Participate in design reviews to provide early accessibility feedback.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accessibility testing processes and documentation.
Required Skills
- Personal or professional experience using screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to navigate websites and applications.
- Strong understanding of web browsing concepts and basic internet usage.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to clearly document and communicate technical issues.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn about web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with other assistive technologies or accessibility testing tools.
- Prior experience in a quality assurance or testing role (non-accessibility specific).
- Certification in web accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
