Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior UI/UX Designer to join our product development team in Oxford. This pivotal role involves leading the design of intuitive, engaging, and accessible user interfaces and experiences for our cutting-edge digital products across research and health domains. You will be responsible for the full design lifecycle, from user research and conceptualization to prototyping, testing, and implementation support. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for complex digital products, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements and user needs into compelling design solutions.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze feedback to iterate and improve designs.
  • Develop and maintain design systems, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to a strong design culture within the team.
  • Present design concepts and justify decisions to various stakeholders, effectively communicating the value and rationale behind design choices.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance our design capabilities.

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in UI/UX design for complex web and/or mobile applications.
  • Proficiency with leading design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Demonstrable experience with user research methodologies (interviews, surveys, usability testing).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
  • Experience in the scientific, academic publishing, or healthcare technology sectors.
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better understand technical constraints.
  • Experience with internationalization and localization considerations in design.
  • Certification in UX design or related fields.
