Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Indianapolis. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support our analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python and SQL, a strong understanding of data warehousing principles, and a passion for building robust, high-performance data solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and cloud data platforms.
- Build and maintain robust data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Implement data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in data pipelines and data infrastructure.
- Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to best practices within the team.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance our data platform.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Expert proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
- Expert proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and database optimization.
- Strong experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and schema design.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
- Knowledge of Salesforce ecosystem data structures.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
