Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary School Teacher to join our thriving community at St Peter’s. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator, whether you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or have several years of experience, to make a significant impact on our students’ lives. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons to secondary school students across various key stages.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and respect.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and guardians to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's curriculum.
  • Undertake pastoral duties, providing support and guidance to students as a form tutor (if applicable).
  • Adhere to all school policies, including those relating to safeguarding and child protection.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, or equivalent.
  • A relevant undergraduate degree in a subject taught at secondary level (e.g., English, Maths, Science, History, MFL).
  • Strong pedagogical knowledge and understanding of secondary education curriculum.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching your subject at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Evidence of successful pastoral leadership or involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • A postgraduate qualification in education or your subject area.
  • Experience with specific educational technologies or teaching methodologies.
