Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Global Health & Sanitation Intern to join our dynamic WASH Programs team. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in international development, public health, and water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives. The intern will support various aspects of program planning, implementation, and evaluation, contributing directly to projects that make a tangible difference in communities across the globe. Full training and mentorship will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals passionate about global health with no prior professional experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and data collection for ongoing WASH projects and new program development.
  • Support the preparation of program reports, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Help organize virtual and in-person meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of educational materials and advocacy campaigns related to WASH.
  • Perform administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the WASH Programs department.
  • Learn to utilize project management tools and databases for tracking program activities.
  • Collaborate with team members on various tasks, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Public Health, Environmental Science, International Development, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in global health, sanitation, and hygiene issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to Global Impact Initiative's mission.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with global development challenges and frameworks.
  • Experience with data entry or basic research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., French, Spanish, Swahili) is a plus.
  • Previous volunteer experience in community outreach or social impact initiatives.
