Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Scrum Master to join our growing technology team in Newport. As a Scrum Master at Admiral, you will play a pivotal role in fostering agile practices, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and coaching our development teams to deliver exceptional value. You will be instrumental in removing impediments, ensuring clear communication, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within your assigned teams. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both from our modern offices in Newport and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach and mentor development teams on Scrum principles, agile values, and self-organization.
- Remove impediments and blockers to team progress, proactively resolving issues.
- Work closely with Product Owners to ensure a well-refined and prioritized product backlog.
- Foster a collaborative and transparent environment, promoting open communication and conflict resolution.
- Track and communicate team metrics, providing insights into team performance and areas for improvement.
- Advocate for continuous improvement in agile practices and team delivery.
- Protect the team from external distractions and ensure focus on sprint goals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
- Deep understanding of Scrum framework and agile principles.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Experience with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Ability to understand technical concepts and dependencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or equivalent certification.
- Experience with scaled agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
