Job Description

Capgemini UK is seeking a dedicated and experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic teams in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in guiding our development teams towards successful delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and championing Agile principles. You will facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, coach team members and stakeholders on Agile best practices, and actively work to remove impediments, ensuring a smooth and efficient Agile process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Coach the development team and Product Owner in self-organization, cross-functionality, estimation, and other Agile practices.
  • Remove impediments and foster an environment of open communication and collaboration.
  • Protect the team from external interruptions and distractions.
  • Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and ensuring clear communication of product goals.
  • Guide the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum framework and Agile principles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members effectively.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and impediment removal.
  • Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II) certification.
  • Experience working in a large-scale or enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of other Agile frameworks such as Kanban or SAFe.
  • Prior experience in a consulting environment.
