Job Description
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our team in Bendigo for part-time night shifts. This rewarding role involves providing direct care and support to residents within our residential facilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort during overnight hours. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and supportive living environment, assisting with daily routines, and responding to the individual needs of residents. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support and care to residents during night shifts, adhering to individual support plans.
- Monitor residents' well-being throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and other daily living activities as required.
- Administer medication according to established protocols and maintain accurate records.
- Respond to resident needs, emergencies, and challenging behaviours calmly and effectively.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and incident reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful living environment.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and external professionals to ensure holistic resident care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night shifts.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field.
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a residential support, aged care, or disability support setting.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs or challenging behaviours.
