Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Packaging & Labeling Assistant to join our fast-paced FMCG plant in Gaithersburg, MD. This entry-level role is crucial in ensuring that our high-quality products are correctly packaged and labeled, meeting both internal standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to follow instructions precisely, and thrive in a collaborative production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of packaging and labeling machinery.
- Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring correct labeling, packaging integrity, and adherence to company standards.
- Load packaging materials onto production lines and replenish as needed.
- Verify product codes, batch numbers, and expiration dates on labels.
- Perform routine quality checks and document findings accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or quality discrepancies to supervisors.
- Collaborate with production team members to achieve daily output goals.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and documenting information.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting, especially FMCG.
- Familiarity with packaging equipment or quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of GMP and food safety standards.
