Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic specializing in Diesel engines to join our team in Tucson, AZ. This is an exceptional opportunity for qualified international candidates, as LMIA and Visa Sponsorship are available for the right individual. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping our customers’ operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests on heavy diesel equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
- Repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, and control modules.
- Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and software to analyze equipment performance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Document all repairs and services performed accurately.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry advancements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software specific to heavy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Experience with Caterpillar equipment and diagnostic software (e.g., ET, SIS).
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Vocational training or an Associate's degree in Heavy Equipment Technology or a related field.
