Job Description
Are you a passionate musician with a deep understanding of guitars and keyboards? Do you love helping others discover the joy of music and find the perfect instrument? Cornwall Music Centre is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Musical Instrument Sales Advisor to join our team in Truro. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes music, possesses excellent communication skills, and is driven by the opportunity to earn commission based on sales. You will be instrumental in creating an engaging shopping experience, offering expert product demonstrations, and building lasting relationships with our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and product demonstrations for guitars, keyboards, and related accessories.
- Assist customers in selecting the right musical instruments based on their skill level, budget, and musical style.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling cash and card payments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting showroom environment.
- Restock shelves, create attractive displays, and ensure products are correctly priced.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest product releases, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, encouraging repeat business and referrals.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally and courteously.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable proficiency in playing guitar and/or keyboards.
- Deep knowledge of musical instruments, brands, and accessories.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for music and helping others.
- Ability to work effectively in a commission-based sales environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanor.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to lift and move musical instruments and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience, ideally within a music store environment.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of music production software or home recording equipment.
- Familiarity with various musical genres and artists.
- Ability to speak additional languages.
