Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our modern workshop in Gateshead. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair, and eager to work with contemporary automotive technology. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from routine servicing to complex diagnostics and repairs, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and provide accurate reports on required repairs.
- Repair and replace faulty parts, components, and systems, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status and repair recommendations.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic in a workshop setting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with modern automotive diagnostic tools and software.
- Excellent knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- MOT Tester certification (Class 4 & 7).
- Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
- Manufacturer-specific training certifications.
