Job Description

The Coast Bastion Hotel is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our front desk team as a Trainee Hotel Receptionist. No prior experience is required, as we are committed to providing comprehensive, full training to ensure your success. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone eager to learn the ropes of hotel operations and provide outstanding guest service. You will be the first point of contact for our guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience from check-in to check-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
- Process guest payments, handle cash, and manage billing inquiries accurately.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately, taking messages when necessary.
- Manage guest reservations, modifications, and cancellations efficiently.
- Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions in Nanaimo.
- Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments (housekeeping, concierge) to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Undergo comprehensive training on hotel management software and standard operating procedures.
