Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Formulation Scientist to join our dynamic R&D team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing formulations for a variety of scientific products, ensuring their stability, efficacy, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments for formulation development, optimization, and characterization.
- Perform stability studies and analyze formulation performance using various analytical techniques.
- Collaborate with analytical, process development, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare technical reports, and present findings to project teams.
- Troubleshoot formulation-related issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Stay current with scientific literature and industry trends in formulation science.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and quality standards in a laboratory setting.
Required Skills
- PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in formulation development within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry.
- Proven experience with various formulation techniques and analytical characterization methods.
- Strong understanding of physical chemistry principles related to formulation science.
- Excellent experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sterile product formulation or sustained-release technologies.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and quality systems.
- Familiarity with statistical design of experiments (DoE) software.
- Experience in scaling up formulations from lab to pilot or manufacturing scale.
