Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TIG/MIG Welder to join our dynamic engineering team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine appropriate welding processes.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
- Inspect welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance welding skills.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Experienced TIG Welder and MIG Welder.
- Demonstrable ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and welding procedures.
- Strong understanding of welding safety standards and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating various welding equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent certification in Welding and Fabrication.
- Experience with other welding processes such as Arc/MMA welding.
- Experience working in power generation, heavy industry, or similar demanding environments.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
