Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TIG/MIG Welder to join our dynamic engineering team. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG and MIG welding on a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine appropriate welding processes.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Inspect welds for quality, integrity, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance welding skills.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Experienced TIG Welder and MIG Welder.
  • Demonstrable ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and welding procedures.
  • Strong understanding of welding safety standards and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating various welding equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent certification in Welding and Fabrication.
  • Experience with other welding processes such as Arc/MMA welding.
  • Experience working in power generation, heavy industry, or similar demanding environments.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
  • Valid CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
