Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Waiter to join our dynamic team at The Palm Bistro & Lounge. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills, and a proven track record in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will be responsible for ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience, from greeting to serving and handling payments, all while maintaining our high standards of service and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist them with seating.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and timely manner.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond proactively.
- Process payments efficiently and accurately using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas and service stations.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a waiter/waitress in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Fluency in English (local languages are a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Formal training or certification in hospitality or food service.
- Experience with fine dining service.
- Knowledge of Nigerian and international cuisine.
