Job Description

Purolator is seeking an enthusiastic Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet Mechanic Trainee to join our dynamic team in Ville-Marie, Montreal. This is a unique entry-level opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience in mechanics, but with a strong desire to learn and grow within the booming EV industry. As an EV Fleet Mechanic Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive hands-on training, learning directly from experienced technicians how to maintain, diagnose, and repair our state-of-the-art electric vehicle fleet. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all training sessions and learn the fundamentals of EV systems and maintenance.
  • Assist certified EV mechanics with routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on our electric vehicle fleet.
  • Learn to perform preventative maintenance tasks on various EV components, including batteries, motors, and charging systems.
  • Under supervision, troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Document all work performed accurately and efficiently using digital systems.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of new EV technologies and repair techniques.
  • Adhere to all environmental standards and best practices related to EV maintenance.

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in vehicles, especially electric ones.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards professional development.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Quebec driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Commitment to upholding safety standards and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer literacy for using diagnostic tools and recording information.
  • Any prior experience with hand tools or basic automotive repairs (e.g., personal projects, hobbies).
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus but not required.
