Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Dog Groomer to join our growing team at Riverland Pet Grooming Studio. This full-time, on-site position is perfect for a passionate professional who not only excels in diverse grooming techniques but also possesses leadership qualities to mentor and guide junior groomers. As a Lead Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services, managing salon operations during your shift, and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of various breed-specific cuts, advanced styling, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized salon environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-service grooming including bathing, brushing, drying, de-shedding, hair cutting, styling, and nail trims for various dog breeds.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized grooming station and salon environment.
- Consult with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on coat care.
- Supervise and mentor junior groomers, providing constructive feedback and training.
- Manage client appointments, ensure timely service delivery, and handle client inquiries.
- Monitor pet health and behavior during grooming, reporting any concerns to pet owners.
- Ensure all grooming equipment is properly maintained and sterilized.
- Assist with inventory management of grooming supplies and products.
- Uphold the highest standards of animal welfare and safety at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional dog grooming experience in a salon setting.
- Proven ability to perform a wide range of breed-specific cuts and styles.
- Excellent animal handling skills, demonstrating patience and compassion.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of various grooming tools and equipment.
