Job Description
Join the Woolworths team as a Bread Delivery Helper for our night shifts in Devonport, Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to play a crucial role in ensuring fresh bread and bakery items reach our stores on time every morning. You’ll be assisting our delivery drivers with loading, unloading, and navigating routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. This role is physically demanding and requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to working through the night. Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with loading bread and bakery products onto delivery vehicles.
- Accurately verify delivery manifests against loaded products.
- Navigate routes efficiently with the driver to ensure timely deliveries to various Woolworths locations.
- Safely and efficiently unload bakery products at designated drop-off points.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and loading areas.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and depot supervisors.
- Perform other duties as required to support the delivery operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items repeatedly (up to 25kg).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail for accurate loading and unloading.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or delivery support role is a plus, but not essential.
- Familiarity with local Devonport and surrounding Tasmanian areas.
- Valid driver's license (though not driving the vehicle, it's beneficial).
