Job Description

Are you passionate about nature, hospitality, and sustainable living? Riverside Nature Retreats is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Eco-Tourism Lodge Assistant. This unique opportunity places you in a stunning remote location where you’ll contribute to the daily operations of our eco-lodge, ensuring guests have an exceptional and memorable stay. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry-level position for those eager to learn and grow in the eco-tourism sector. Accommodation and meals are provided on-site as part of the compensation package, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty and community spirit of our retreat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily lodge operations, including guest check-ins/check-outs and general inquiries.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a pristine and welcoming environment.
  • Support kitchen staff with meal preparation and dining service as needed.
  • Assist guests with activity planning and provide information about local natural attractions.
  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks and ensure the lodge facilities are in good working order.
  • Participate in sustainable practices, including waste management and energy conservation.
  • Help with trail maintenance, gardening, or other outdoor tasks as required.
  • Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor, fostering a positive atmosphere for guests and staff.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness suitable for outdoor activities and general lodge duties (e.g., lifting up to 25 lbs).
  • Passion for nature, conservation, and sustainable living.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a related field (even volunteer work).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic knowledge of local flora and fauna.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
  • Experience living or working in remote settings.
