Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and empathetic Remote Patient Appointment Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare call center team. This is a crucial role responsible for managing patient appointment bookings, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and excellent patient experience. You will be the first point of contact for many patients, guiding them through the scheduling process with professionalism and care. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to a vital healthcare service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
- Verify patient information and insurance details accurately.
- Provide clear and concise information to patients regarding appointment preparation and clinic policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various healthcare services and appointment protocols.
- Utilize scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently.
- Resolve patient inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Adhere to all patient confidentiality and data protection regulations (GDPR).
- Document all interactions and actions thoroughly in patient records.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a call center or healthcare setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and basic office software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to empathize with patients and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with medical scheduling software or EHR systems.
- Understanding of healthcare terminology.
- Experience in a remote work environment.
- GCSEs including English and Maths (or equivalent).
