Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Association Manager to join our team in Taree, NSW. This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives for one of our key professional body clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for member engagement, event coordination, financial oversight, and fostering strong relationships with board members and stakeholders. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for community building and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members, addressing inquiries and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Manage and execute a calendar of events, including conferences, workshops, and networking functions, from conception to post-event evaluation.
  • Oversee the financial administration of the association, including budget development, invoice processing, and financial reporting in collaboration with accounting teams.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and strategic support to the Executive Board and various committees, including agenda preparation, minute taking, and follow-up on action items.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to keep members informed and engaged through newsletters, social media, and website updates.
  • Maintain and update member databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for membership growth and retention, implementing initiatives to achieve targets.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective delivery of services.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, particularly in event coordination.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic financial literacy for budget management and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working within a not-for-profit organisation, professional body, or association management environment.
  • Understanding of governance principles and board support functions.
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media management for professional organisations.
