Job Description
Join our dynamic team at Petbarn Greenway as a Grooming Offsider, focusing on our beloved canine clients! This part-time position on a day roster is perfect for individuals with a passion for animals who are eager to learn the ropes of professional pet grooming. As an Offsider, you will play a crucial support role to our experienced groomers, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all dogs. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry point into the pet care industry. If you love dogs, are reliable, and ready to contribute to a friendly team, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist professional groomers with bathing, drying, and general preparation of dogs for grooming services.
- Maintain a clean and organised grooming salon, including sanitising equipment and work areas.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of all dogs during their grooming experience.
- Handle dogs gently and confidently, following established safety protocols.
- Manage laundry duties related to grooming towels and other textiles.
- Monitor dog behaviour and report any concerns to the groomers.
- Provide basic customer service support, such as greeting clients and assisting with check-ins/check-outs when needed.
Required Skills
- Genuine love for animals, especially dogs.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift and handle dogs of various sizes, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience interacting with animals (e.g., pet ownership, volunteer work).
- Basic understanding of dog behaviour and handling techniques.
- Customer service experience.
