Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional APS3 Customer Service Officer to join our team in Chipping Norton. This is an ongoing, full-time role within a vital government agency. You will be the first point of contact for individuals and businesses, providing accurate information and support on tax-related matters. While the title reflects a federal government structure, this role is integral to local service delivery in the UK. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident in delivering high-quality service, navigating complex systems, and adhering to strict governmental guidelines. This position requires a strong commitment to public service and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely information to customers via phone, email, and in-person enquiries.
- Assist customers with various tax and payment-related queries, guiding them through processes and forms.
- Document interactions and update customer records accurately in accordance with established procedures.
- Escalate complex issues to senior officers or specialists when necessary.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering professional and empathetic service.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and data security protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
