Job Description
Join our dynamic team at Shaw’s Supermarkets as a Vegetable Packer for casual day work at our factory in Derry, NH. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible shifts and an opportunity to contribute to our essential food supply chain. You will be responsible for preparing fresh produce for distribution, ensuring quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, inspect, and package various vegetables according to quality standards and specifications.
- Operate packaging machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Monitor product quality, reporting any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Lift and move boxes of produce as required, following proper lifting techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles (training provided).
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or food handling environment is a plus, but not required.
