Job Description

Join the Oxfordshire Farmers Collective as a Farmers Market Stall Setup Helper! This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and reliable individual who enjoys early mornings and working outdoors. You’ll be an essential part of our weekend market team in Oxford, assisting with the crucial task of setting up and dismantling our market stalls. This role involves physical activity, teamwork, and ensuring our stalls are ready to welcome customers with fresh produce. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude!

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive promptly at market locations in Oxford for early morning setup.
  • Unload market tents, tables, produce boxes, and display equipment from delivery vehicles.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to erect market stalls and arrange produce displays according to guidelines.
  • Assist with the safe and efficient packing away of all market equipment and unsold produce at the end of the market day.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the setup and pack-down process.
  • Help with general tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the market as needed.

Required Skills

  • Reliability and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying moderate to heavy items.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar manual labor or event setup role (beneficial but not essential).
  • A valid UK driving license and access to transport (advantageous for commuting to early shifts).
